Kevin Smith
President

Kevin Smith joined TelStrat at its inception, and as the company’s first employee, Mr. Smith helped direct and build the company from the very beginning. Named TelStrat’s President in 1999, Mr. Smith has grown the company by adhering to strict quality standards and diversifying its product lines across multiple segments of the telecom technology market.

Leveraging the success of TelStrat’s initial business, which included several OEM products for Nortel, in 2001 he established two business groups developing and marketing self-branded products for carrier networks and enterprise contact centers. For carrier environments, Mr. Smith directed the acquisition and expansion of the Inteleflex Broadband Loop Carrier (BLC) business, based around an access network solution designed to scale bandwidth capacity in the local loop and enable converged voice, data, and video services. Concurrently, Mr. Smith established and grew another successful business unit addressing the needs of the enterprise call recording and contact center applications markets.

After completing the successful sale of the Inteleflex business unit in 2007, Mr. Smith focused the company’s resources on TelStrat’s Enterprise business group, expanding into new and broader markets, and adding important new products. This included launching the company’s Engage Contact Center Suite an integrated, single-source, total solution for optimizing contact center operations. While guiding the Engage Suite’s rapid penetration into the contact center market, Mr. Smith oversees a global business network, including more than 140 distributor partners and over 1500 customer installations worldwide.

Prior to joining TelStrat, Mr. Smith served in management and engineering capacities for several technology companies, including Datotek a subsidiary of Bell Labs, Cygnus Computers, and Texas Instruments.

Mr. Smith holds a Bachelors Degree with Honors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee.
