TelStrat promotes Darrell Roberts to Vice President of Technology

VoIP recording technology pioneer assumes new role

Plano, Texas – September 2, 2008 – TelStrat, a global supplier of enterprise and carrier-class access telecommunications products, today announced the promotion of Darrell Roberts to the newly created role of TelStrat’s Vice President of Technology. In this and his previous position of Director of Enterprise Engineering, Roberts’ oversees several functional areas of the organization, including all product development, technical support, and professional services teams.

With over 25 years of experience in software development and management in both start-up and large, established technology firms, Roberts boasts a successful track record of developing and leading strong engineering teams and designing and bringing to market key elements of telecommunications technology.

“Darrell is the original architect of our products and is crucial to the success of our organization,” said Kevin Smith, president. “He has built a quality team and is a leader in the industry—the right mix for TelStrat to advance prominently in contact center solutions.”

Upon joining TelStrat ten years ago, Roberts augmented the existing hardware, firmware, and verification test groups with a newly-assembled team dedicated to client/server software application development.

Roberts was instrumental in developing a critical patent for VoIP recording architecture that paved the way for adding on-demand recording technology to IP phones. Today, this technology is relied on by many manufacturers in the VoIP telephone industry.

He also has led product development from initial architecture through release for all of TelStrat’s flagship products, including iDVR/CallParrot call recording and Telstrat’s latest Engage Contact Center Suite™ product line, targeting the business needs in the customer service industry.

Roberts looks forward to constant challenge in his new position. “Going forward, our mandate is to continually develop and incorporate new and innovative technologies that leverage our call recording leadership position into equal success in the broader contact center market,” said Roberts. “I think we have the means and the minds to do just that.”

Prior to joining TelStrat, Roberts led networking product projects at Compaq Computer Corporation. Before that, he held senior engineering positions at several companies, including Harris-Adacom. As senior engineer at startup firms Cygnus and NetSpan, he developed x.25 packet switch technology and led engineering efforts on router products.

Roberts holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas.
